While his projects are highly technical, Howell never backs down from a whimsical idea. Howell harnesses his diverse knowledge spanning history, pop culture and art into fresh ideas. When not working, Howell enjoys reading, drawing outlandish pictures and listening to music; all of which coalesces into a source of inspiration.
The art of cocktails is a recipe book with a clean minimalist layout inspired by art magazine plaques and guidebooks. This concept was inspired by the premium aspects of quality products that lend themselves to the sublime aspects of esteemed art and artists.
The idea behind this beer was to create a memorable package. The cans feature three ferocious animals heavily associated with Canadian culture and their crude colloquialisms. The idea behind the animals was to make an “aggressively Canadian” design.
